What the Bot Is For
Shikshak Sahyogi is designed to be a conversational mentoring partner for teachers.
Teachers can ask, in plain language, for lesson plans, classroom activities, help with student misconceptions, support for differentiated classrooms, assessment questions, and introductory activities. The intent is to give teachers a reliable point of support when a mentor is unavailable or absent — available on WhatsApp, an app they already use every day, with answers vetted by experts rather than generic AI responses.

Q. When will the bot be ready for public use?
We're getting the content straightened out first. Tentatively, by the end of June we expect a minimal viable product (MVP) ready to test with a small group of about 20 teachers. Wider release follows once that pilot gives us confidence.
Q. How does the bot help teachers?
It acts as a conversational mentoring partner. Teachers can ask for lesson plans, classroom activities, help with student misconceptions, support for differentiated classrooms, assessment questions, and introductory activities — in plain language. It's meant to support teachers when a human mentor isn't available.
Q. Why a chatbot and not another app?
Teachers already juggle several apps, which adds cognitive load and uses up phone memory. Our bot lives on WhatsApp—an app teachers already use daily—so they don't have to learn a new platform. Teachers can write or speak in their own language and get an expert-vetted answer, without navigating between multiple apps.
Q. The bot isn't doing everything it promises yet. Why?
Several capabilities are already live — conversational support in Hindi and Marathi, lesson plan generation with PDF output, and assessment questions. Others are still in development or planned, such as TEACH pedagogy guidance, post-call WhatsApp summaries, session continuity, and additional languages. We'd rather build these properly than ship them broken, so some will arrive later than others.
Q. Are my conversations with the bot private?
Teacher trust is central to the design. The intent is that a teacher's conversations stay private to them.
