Promoting Computer Science &
21st century Skills
With the release of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, it is now formally acknowledged by the Indian Government that Computational Thinking is a foundational and essential skill set for students to thrive in a VUCA world.
The NEP has now validated this perspective by introducing Problem Solving, Computational Thinking/ Coding from Grade 6 onwards. This progressive and holistic approach of the NEP is refreshing, not to mention aligned with the need of the hour when the digital divide in education has been brought into sharper focus by the pandemic.
About the Partnership
Leadership For Equity (LFE) in partnership with Amazon Future Engineer is committed to creating opportunities that foster 21st-century skills like critical thinking and problem-solving for underserved children in government schools of Maharashtra.
We aim to build essential digital skills that prepare students to become a part of the creative and empowered workforce of the future. We believe this can be achieved by a multipronged approach that balances student learning outcomes and scale.
LFE’s systems change approach to scale innovations enables us to create a robust ecosystem that inspires students to try Computer Science and coding. By incorporating state partnerships, cultivating educators, leveraging technology and continuing to build on the grassroots proof points, we can build a scalable & affordable learning ecosystem for Computer Science Education in Maharashtra.
